The Tales of Saudi Arabia

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the largest Arab state in Western Asia.  It is known to experience a sunny weather, all year through, with its average annual days of sunshine being around 330.  On the basis of average monthly temperatures, the coldest month for the country happens to be January and July experiences the most heat during the year.

As most people know, Islam happens to be the most followed religion in the country and its official language is Arabic.  Its currency is ‘Saudi Riyal’ and its GDP per capita income comes out to approximately U.S. $11,400.  One of the points of differentiation of the country is its high literacy percentage, which is at about 79%.

Its total population is approx. 24,573,000 and average salary (after tax) earned in the country is 8,000.00.  In terms of the cost of living, a meal at an inexpensive restaurant will cost you around 15.00 Riyal, while that in a mid-range restaurant will come out to be around 50.00 Riyal.  Similarly, the cost of 1 litre regular milk, 12 eggs, one-way local transport ticket and monthly pass come out to be Riyal 4.00, 7.50, 2.00 and 125.00 respectively.
